Waste King Supports The Salvation Army

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASTE KING SUPPORTS THE SALVATION ARMY

Glenn Currie, Managing Director of Waste King Limited recently demonstrated the company’s support for The Salvation Army, by positioning a clothes and shoes recycling unit outside their premises at Frogmore Road Industrial Estate, Hemel Hempstead.

Glenn, and his partner Andy Cattigan, are dedicated to recycling up to 75% of the waste the company collects, thereby reducing the burden placed on landfill whilst actively re-using and recycling wherever possible themselves.  Their association with the Salvation Army further supports this desire to continuously improve their environmental performance.

Provision of this local amenity supplements the already extensive list of recycling and waste collection services provided by Waste King, which include house, garden and garage clearance, wait and load services, WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) collections and SWMP (site waste management plans).  The company also offers confidential document destruction.

Glenn commented “surprisingly this is pretty ground-breaking stuff for a waste management company, but we are now networked with a number of other very well established organisations across the UK that re-use and recycle. It benefits us all.”

Apparently the Salvation Army says that most clothes have at least 70% of their useful life leftwhen the owner disposes of them, and the income it receives from its recycling activities helps to fund beds for the homeless, cups of tea for the thirsty and food for the hungry!  We are delighted to be able to contribute to this work.

For further information, contact Glenn Currie (Managing Director) or Andy Cattigan(Director) on tel: 01442 216 784 or visit their website www.wasteking.co.uk.

If you were serious, I would remeomcnd Glass Beach, in northern California. It's actually a pretty cool beach, where the sand is made up of tons of broken glass, that has been worn by the constant motion of the waves, and is now, colored sand. But, I think you're just being stupid, so I won't.

Good article. It is quite untntfuoare that over the last decade, the travel industry has already been able to to fight terrorism, SARS, tsunamis, flu virus, swine flu, along with the first ever entire global economic collapse. Through all of it the industry has proven to be effective, resilient and dynamic, discovering new tips on how to deal with difficulty. There are usually fresh issues and chance to which the field must just as before adapt and react.
