Waste King supplies BBC local radio’s recycling experts

Andy Cattigan and Glenn Currie - the founders of the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company, Waste King – bring their recycling and environmentally friendly waste management skills to radio on Monday 4th January, when they are the guests in ‘The Expert Hour’, part of Lorna Milton’s afternoon show on BBC Three Counties Radio.

Lorna Milton’s programme airs from 2pm to 4.30pm every weekday on BBC Three Counties Radio and provides advice from experts, entertainment news and interviews.

To get the New Year off to fine start, Lorna has invited Andy and Glenn to explain how to dispose of the ephemera of the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the most environmentally friendly way. This includes not only Christmas trees but also used Christmas wrapping paper, old Christmas cards and so on.

“We’re looking forward to making our debuts on radio,” said Andy Cattigan. “It will be interesting to take calls from listeners – to find out their key recycling issues.

“Hopefully, we will be able to provide some helpful advice about how to dispose safely of many of the things that are not environmentally friendly – not just TVs, and computer monitors but also long life light bulbs and plasterboard,” added Glenn Currie.

Waste King has publicly pledged its commitment to recycle a substantial and significant percentage of all the waste it collects from its customers – thus avoiding using the landfill option wherever possible. Moreover, it has promised that all the waste it collects is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

Waste King provides a wide range of waste collection and recycling services for both domestic and commercial clients including house clearances, office clearance, shop refurbishments, general rubbish removal, garden & garage clearance, wait & load and skip hire.

You can hear Andy Cattigan and Glenn Currie on BBC Three Counties Radio on Monday 4th January from 2pm – on 90.4, 92.1, 94.7, 95.5,98, 103.8 and 104.5 FM and 630 & 1161 AM.
