We aim to constantly broaden the use of our services to increase value for our customers and, in turn, minimise the environmental impact of our activities and reduce waste to landfill.
Material Separation
We aim to separate 100% of the materials we collect so that we can transfer them to dedicated recycling facilities for maximum landfill diversion.
Our Reuse Network
We donate to charity organisations such as the British Heart Foundation and Salvation Army. We donate all types of good quality furniture and electrical items and have book and clothes recycling banks at our office and warehouse in Hemel Hempstead to maximise the re-use of items we collect. Visit our Charitable Donation page for more information.
Recognition for Recycling
We have won various awards in recognition of our high standards of landfill diversion, click here to see these awards

How do we achieve this?
Waste King wins the British Heart Foundation’s heartfelt thanks
Waste King wins the British Heart Foundation’s heartfelt thanks Waste King, the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company, has received a certificate from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) recording the BHF’s ‘heartfelt thanks’ for Waste King giving the charity 19 tonnes of recycled books, DVDs and music CDs that can be reused and sold to support the BHF’s work.
Waste King installed recycling points at its premises in the Frogmore Industrial Estate in Hemel Hempstead to help raise funds for its chosen charities including the BHF. While members of the public have contributed to these collections, the collections have also received a major boost from Waste King’s house clearance service.

Waste King expands its CSR strategy to support Medical Detection Dogs
Waste King, the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company, has recently expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy by pledging to give 30 per cent of its business turnover in one day to Medical Detection Dogs. This pledge is in addition to its continuing practical and monetary support for other charities.
Medical Detection Dogs is a charity that works with researchers, NHS Trusts and Universities. Its work has attracted Lesley Nicol – otherwise known as ‘Mrs Patmore’, in the ITV drama series, Downton Abbey – to become an ambassador for the charity. Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to help people with life threatening health conditions, giving these people greater independence and a higher quality of life. Its dogs are now working with Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust as well as with Bristol University to establish exactly what it is that the dogs are detecting.
The dogs are taught to identify the odour changes that are associated with certain medical events. They alert their ‘owners’; bring any necessary medical supplies such as glucose and blood testing kits, and get help if necessary.
